The Atlantic County Council of Education Associations
The Atlantic County Council of Education Associations (ACCEA) is the official teacher and school personnel association, which was founded specifically to guard and expand on the professional and financial interests of its members. Its activities are geared towards improved conditions in the work place, salary increases, more job benefits and acceptable retirement policies. ACCEA currently represents over 7,000 education professionals and works together with several private interest groups in the field of education.
The Atlantic County Council of Education Associations contributes to the creation of professional training and development programs in order to support the legal positions of its members and the local educational organizations.
ACCEA promotes the need for a public educational system that is efficient, effective and growing. For this purpose ACCEA works alongside the NJEA and other private groups, by joint sponsorships and promotions, constructed to increase the awareness and support of the general public. ACCEA also works with these organizations on legal positions, like securing federal aid for educational programs and improved social security programs geared towards education.
An example would be the NJEA Members Benefits Program:
The NJEA Members Benefits Program is designed to offer its members discounts on major educational purchases through their Educator Access program. By printing special certificates that can be found on the NJEA web site, members can use these to get the mentioned discounts at the designated selling points.
ACCEA also organizes the yearly ACCEA Scholarship Awards in cooperation with KPMG. During this event ACCEA representatives grant three $1,000 scholarships to Atlantic County students that are graduating from public high schools and desire to pursue a career in the area of education. The ACCEA Awards are a part of the ACCA Nurture program and has been organized for the last 3 years and serves as an example of the many successful programs that are endorsed by the ACCEA.
